Sometimes they remain at the bottom, and sometimes they regain their footing... to a degree. Parts of each story are narrated by more than one character, providing the entire story from more than one point of view. Characters from one story reappear in subsequent stories; a little older and wiser. Places in one story reappear, too, often changed with the passage of time. These stories include: humour, dishonesty, serial killing, human psychology, romance, overcoming a dysfunctional family, professional actors, a commercial pilot, a few nurses, and others.
